🖋️ How to Make Temporary Body Art Tattoos
Our Body Art Tattoo Kit includes a medically approved adhesive film, allowing you to safely design and apply your own temporary tattoos. All you need is an inkjet printer and your imagination!
Step 1 – Design Your Tattoo
- Design your tattoo using your favorite graphic software.
- Mirror or reverse the design before printing.
- Test your layout by printing on plain paper first.
- Once satisfied, print on the tattoo film and let it dry for at least 30 minutes.
Step 2 – Apply the Tattoo
- Cut out your tattoo closely around the design.
- Cut a piece of medical adhesive large enough to cover your tattoo.
- Peel off the backing from the adhesive to expose the sticky side.
- Place the printed tattoo face-down onto the adhesive.
- Firmly press the tattoo onto the adhesive sheet and rub gently around the edges.
- Carefully peel the tattoo film off the backing—the design will now be covered with a thin adhesive layer.
- Place the tattoo adhesive-side down onto your skin and press firmly for 10 seconds.
- Wet the back of the tattoo paper with a damp cloth or sponge.
- After about 60 seconds, the liner will slide off—revealing your custom tattoo!
How Long Do They Last?
These tattoos are temporary by design. They’ll stay on through daily activity but are intended to wash off in the shower with soap and water.
How Are These Different From Store-Bought Tattoos?
Unlike pre-printed store tattoos, our kit lets you create personalized designs using your inkjet printer. Standard store tattoos use FDA-approved inks applied directly to the skin. Because most inkjet printer inks are not FDA-certified, our system uses a medically approved adhesive layer that rests between the printed design and your skin—just like a bandage.
Once applied, water is used to activate the liner, which slides off and leaves your design in place. The process may sound complex, but it’s simple in practice—and every kit includes full instructions.
Are They Easy to Remove?
Yes! Just wash the tattoo in the shower using soap and warm water. The adhesive will loosen, and the tattoo will flake away cleanly.
Are They Water-Resistant?
Temporary tattoos are water-resistant for casual exposure—such as rain or handwashing. However, soaking or scrubbing with soap is designed to remove them. They’re durable for daily wear, but not waterproof.
How Many Tattoos Can I Make Per Sheet?
Each tattoo sheet measures 5.5" x 8.5". The number of tattoos per sheet depends on the size of each design—you can create several small tattoos or one large piece per sheet.
